Korle-Bu Ceo Hot! Given 48hrs To Withdraw Interdiction Of Kossa President

More than one hundred members of the Korle-Bu Senior Staffs Association (KOSSA) angrily stormed the office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Gilbert Buckle, yesterday morning to register their protest against the interdiction of Mr Charles Offei Palm, president of KOSSA.

The protest was aimed at piling pressure on the CEO of Ghana’s Premier hospital to rescind an earlier decision of interdicting the president of KOSSA Charles Offei Palm.

The KOSSA members stormed   the CEO’s office wearing red bands and placards threatening to bring official duties to a halt should the CEO fail to withdraw the interdiction of their president. They claim it’s an embarrassing to them and

In a petition presented to a management member of the hospital, the members of KOSSA expressed dismay over what they described as an unfortunate action by the CEO, adding that their president was only interested in the growth of the nation’s leading hospital and could therefore not be interdicted by anybody who wants the best for the hospital.

The president of the association was interdicted last week by the CEO and the board of the hospital just for granting interview with an Accra-based radio station, class 91.3 FM last week without the notice of the hospital’s authorities.

The CEO and the Board believed that the KOSSA president breached the rules and regulations of the hospital which prevented any person from speaking with media concerning issues related to  the hospital .

The petitioners said they were surprised that the president of the association was not queried to explain himself before he was interdicted.

“We fin this action against the president of the association, and for that matter all staff, as unfortunate, whimsical and capricious attempt to cow the staff, silence them from demanding accountability and transparency and to foist the ‘mafia’ a tag that has no meaning to reality” the petition further hinted.

Speaking with the media after the petition, the general secretary of KOSSA, James Clifford Oblitey, noted that the president granted the interview in his capacity as president of the association and was addressed by the host of the programme as president and therefore deserves no interdiction by the CEO.

He further hinted that the president never spoke in his capacity as an employee specialist pharmacy, but as president of KOSSA since the interview was in relation to recent matters raised by KOSSA and the current happening in the hospital.

The Deputy Director of Administration at the Hospital, Kabani Kambiri, who received the petition on behalf of the CEO and the board, promised that the letter would be given to authorities for redress.

He however called on the association to remain calm while authorities seek redress to the situation.

Charles Offei Palm who spoke with this paper later thanked his members for their kind gesture and promised to continue with his fight towards the development of the hospital.

The KOSSA President said he has contacted his Lawyer to file a court action against his interdiction by the CEO and board at the hospital within a short time.
