Bestpoint Opens Branch In Tamale

Bestpoint Savings and Loans Company Limited (BPSL) of the Despite Group of Companies has so far offered over GHC 26 million as loans to grow Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country.

The Board Chairman of the company, Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong, who disclosed this at the opening of the Tamale branch of the company in the Northern Region, said the company has also mobilized a total deposit of GHC112 million within its two-years of operation.

The opening of the Tamale branch brings the total number of branches of the company to 15 in five regions across the country.

Dr Sarpong said the company would continue to come out with innovative products to ensure the growth of the SMEs sector in the country, particularly in northern Ghana.

“Our motivation was to establish a financial institution that would be very responsive to the needs of households and businesses and their desire for financial security and prosperity,” he said.

He expressed the hope that the opening of the Tamale branch would serve the banking needs of the people in the three regions of the north.

He reiterated the company’s commitment to continue to support the growth of the country’s economy, particularly in the Northern Region by way of offering soft credit facilities to its clientele within the area.

The Managing Director of BPSL, Mr. Kofi Ampofo Agyapong, said the company also offered services such as Western Union Money Transfer, MoneyGram, Vigo, Airtel Money, MTN Mobile Money and Tigo Cash. He gave an assurance that the company would continue to be customer-centered in all of its dealings.

The Northern Regional Minister, Mr Abdallah Abubakari, in his remarks commended the Despite Group of Companies for extending a branch of the bank to the region.
