Over 200 Demos Should Have Been Captured In Mahama's Green Book - Wontumi

NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako says the several demonstrations under President John Dramani Mahama including the current “Baamu Yarda”, literally “We won’t agree” in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region have reached a total of about 200; an unprecedented achievement since he took over from the late President Mills.

According to him, planners of the NDC's Green Book should have captured the various demonstrations and strikes which have taken place under the stewardship of President Mahama as achievements.

The only thing we will remember President Mahama for is the unprecedented demonstrations against his government; due to the hardship he has inflicted on Ghanaians, there have been series of demonstrations from all the sectors against him. We have seen doctors, nurses, teachers, students, political parties, labour force demonstrating against him...Baamu Yarda demonstration makes it about 200...he is a demonstration president; and that should have been captured in his green book as an achievement.”

He asserted it is useless for any President to remain in office while his people languish in hardship; thus under President Mahama, Ghanaians are unable to access and create jobs, they are not able to pay electricity bills as well as get constant supply of water after paying their water bills.

He reiterated that parents cannot afford to send their wards to schools anymore because there is no money in the system; adding that the NHIS is not working effectively under the President Mahama- led NDC administration.

Chairman Wontumi as popularly known however urged all traditional rulers, the clergy, elders, the courts and the embassies to take note of all the issues raised by the concerned political parties and pressure groups which President Mahama and Madam Charlotte Osei, EC boss have refused to agree.

He therefore reminded that if any civil unrest takes place due to refractory of the EC boss to address the voters’ register issue, President Mahama must be arrested along side Charlotte Osei to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

He insisted the work of the Electoral Commission boss exceeds her ability to handle the commission.

“President Mahama was cleared to rule the country by the court but he does not respect any court ruling which goes against him, but what we are saying is that we won’t agree, meaning “Baamu Yarda.”
