It's Ladies Day at Aintree and for fashion fans it's the most exciting part of the three-day festival as racegoers turn out in their finest fashions in the hope of landing one of the coveted style awards on offer to the best dressed.

Early arrivals showed off their style in their best frocks and fascinators, but unfortunately a few got it wrong, including one woman who matched her white fishnet tights to the sleeves of her dress.

However, plenty of others were the picture of elegance as they turned out in their most glamorous frocks for the Fabulous Friday Ladies Day at the Merseyside course.
