US medical team operates on 170 patients

A team of United States medical officers, have within two weeks, performed about 170 operations at the Apam Catholic Hospital. Dr Bob Davis, the leader of the team, who announced this at a durbar of the chiefs and people of Apam at their annual Akwambo festival, said the operations were performed with assistance of doctors and nurses at the Apam Hospital. The diseases treated include fibroids, goitre, hernia and urinary problems. Mr Francis Yawson, the Administrator of the Hospital, who accompanied the officials to the durbar grounds, said the team had provided a Waste Water Treatment Plant at the Hospital and would provide a fish processing and cold store facility for the people. The 33-member team was introduced to the gathering.
