New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ablekuma West constituency First Vice Chairman, Kwesi Ofori has described the resignation of thirteen constituency executives as good riddance for the party.

According to him, the decision by these former executives come as no surprise as their conduct ever since they were elected was not in the best interest of the party.

The group, led by former constituency chairman, Theophilus Tetteh, declared their decision on the evening news of TV3 Friday.

Tetteh who was contesting the primary held Saturday gave up and withdrew a court case he initiated against the party. The move was in disagreement with the NEC’s decision to admit two different registers for the polls.

He and his other executives told Tv3 they can no longer abide by the dictatorial tendencies of the party’s flagbearer and the national executive body.

We have all resigned. The NEC, Nana Akufo-Addo has taken a decision. They say if you don’t like it, you can leave the party. We have left the party for Nana Akufo-Addo and Ursula Owusu. They should carry it!” the former chairman fumed.

However, speaking to Kasapa News, Mr Kwesi Ofori stated that the continuous stay in the party would have spelt doom for the NPP in the constituency come November general election.

“Theophilus Tetteh the chairman had succeeded in influencing the other executives and controlled them. At a point in time they were working with the ruling NDC party for their own parochial interest. Indeed they were being sponsored by that party. If they have left the party, no one will beg them to return, they are a good riddance for the party” Mr Ofori noted.
