Deadline for payment of package is not negotiable - Hajj Committee

The National Hajj Committee on Friday reminded intending pilgrims that the October 15 deadline for full payment of their hajj package of 2,900 dollars each is non-negotiable. It has therefore urged all prospective pilgrims to pay early to avoid rush or embarrassment, and reiterated that prospective pilgrims would be treated on strictly first-pay-first-travel, this year. A statement issued in Accra and signed by Muhammad Kpakpo Addo, Secretary to the Committee, said 336 intending pilgrims had paid their package sum to the Committee by Sunday, September 20, 2009. It said six persons paid directly to the Committee while the rest paid through accredited hajj agents. They are Al-Balad, 99; Ayaana, 94; Ansar, 41; Masfala, 19; NBE, 14; Wamta M.S, 14; Danwaana, 13; MTA, nine; Dagomba Boy, eight; Wamta Adamu, eight; Al-Qibla, six; UMTA, four and Wamta, one. The statement implored accredited hajj agents withholding the pay-in slips and particulars of prospective pilgrims who have fully paid to them to submit them to the Committee. It urged intending pilgrims who wish to pay direct to the Committee to do so through any of the bank accounts of the Committee at either Ecobank or Inter Continental Bank and submit their pay-in slips to the Committees Secretariat at Kawo Kudi, behind Tamara Restaurant near 37 Military Hospital, or call 0277403357 for assistance.
