No Gov't Can Solve "Dumsor" Permanently - Jinapor

NPP Communicator, Abu Jinapor says no government can resolve the energy crises confronting the country permanently.

He noted that the perennial power cuts have become a major problem because as the economy progresses, demands for power also increase; hence the need for higher supply of electricity.

To him, until generation capacity match up with consumer demands; the power cuts which are widely known as "dumsor" will continually recur.

Commenting on the relapse of the energy crises facing Ghanaians, Abu Jinapor called the bluff of President John Mahama to permanently fix the problem.

According to him, President Mahama and his government can temporarily solve the "dumsor" issue with their emergency power plant but "ultimately as the country progresses and our financial demands increase as the economy also grows, demand will hike up. So, when you reach a certain level, demand will certainly outstrip supply if you don’t increase the supply. So, even the whole concept that one particular government can resolve energy crises or our energy needs forever; that concept in itself is wrong because it is a continuous process where you have to continue to add up to your generation capacity to match up with the growth in demand, the growth in population; economy growth.”
