NPP NEC Wants Re-run of Manhyia North Just For Their Selfish Interest

Some NPP executives, electoral area coordinators and polling station delegates at the Manhyia North constituency in the Ashanti Region demonstrated over the weekend warning the National Executives Council (NEC) of the party to retract their decision to conducting any re-run of election in the area.

The angry group as well demonstrated cautioning the executives not to come close to them if they want their lives safe due to the decision taken since they refused to buy that idea.

Deputy Secretary of the constituency, Patricia Arthur who spoke on behalf of the group in an interview with CITI FM news, said the NEC took this decision based on their selfish interest and promised to deal with any party executive who conducts any elections in the area.

We don’t want any hypocrisy, we are all one people, we want power, therefore if the NEC is not aware we are making them aware that there is not going to be any re-run at Manhyia North, if they want to try they should come with coffins,” she said.

However, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, NPP Manhyia North Elections Committee Chairman in an interview with PEACE FM news indicated that executives of the party have called on the group protesting at the party headquarters tomorrow at 5pm to verify if there is the need for an election re-run or not, after some parliamentary candidates who were not satisfied with the previous primaries petitioned court for justice and have indeed been granted.

It is an open meeting, so anybody disturbed with the issue at hand can come to the party headquarters at 5pm with his or her grievances, but no amount of riot would be tolerated because the party does not want to associate itself with any disagreement  especially with party leaders.
