NGO Gives Bicycles to Girls and Communities

Prolink Ghana, a Hohoe-based integrated development oriented Non-Governmental Organisation, has presented a total of 125 bicycles worth GHc 7,500 to 50 needy but brilliant girls and 72 others in the Hohoe Municipality. Fifty girls from 25 public schools, 50 community health volunteers from 10 communities, some peer educators on HIV/AIDS Prevention and 15 communities received the items. Mr Samuel K. Agbotsey, Project Manager of Prolink Ghana, told the Ghana News Agency that the bicycles were a donation from a German philanthropist and they were to enhance the mobility of beneficiaries towards promoting Girl-Child and Community Health Education. They are also to support community sensitization work on HIV/AIDS Prevention. He expressed optimism that a lot more brilliant but needy girls would benefit from the donation in subsequent years. Miss Priscilla Adzimah, a beneficiary, thanked their benefactors on behalf of the group, for their magnanimity, saying the gesture had brought a great relief to them.
