Obinim's OB TV Back On Air As ICE TV

Viewers of Ghana’s controversial Prophet, Bishop Daniel Obinim’s private television can now watch church proceedings and programmes of their pastor on the channel – two weeks after it was pulled down.

On 30th of March 2016, National Communications Authority (NCA) took down some channels off the MULTI TV decoder – notably among them is the prophet’s OB TV, politician and business tycoon, Paa Kwesi Nduom’s ATV.

According to NCA, the channels taken off were not regulated to operate, some did not meet the basic requirement to operate, and above all most didn’t even have the license to operate.

But the prophet has officially announced its station comeback on NEAT FM’s mornings show Ghana Montie with a new name.

Bishop Obinim admitted that he did not acquire the necessary license for his operation – “Now I have it and I am grateful. We are fully back on air. Prayer is the key.”

He however explained the new naming of his TV station – “It was OB TV but now it’s ICE TV. I registered three names of my TV stations and ICE TV was inclusive. So now that I have mine license, I prefer to use the ICE TV. But at any time, I can change it to OB TV.”

“After two months, I will change it back to OB TV.” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.

Actress and parliamentary aspirant for Trobu constituency in the Greater Accra region, Diamond Appiah a church member of IGWC, also posted on Social media yesterday that everything is now sorted, and the new name is ICE TV.
