The Presiding Bishop of Great Fire Pentecostal International Ministry (Mispa City), Bishop Dr. Bonegas has debunked claims of his alleged illness and death rumour which has been circulating on social media for sometime now.

About a month ago news went viral on Social media that Bishop Dr. Bonegas was seriously sick and bedridden resulting in his death.

But in a press conference at the Mispa City Church auditorium near Kasoa Toll Booth on Monday April 11, 2016, Bishop Dr. Bonegas who was in an all-white apparel responded that by the grace of God he has not been sick, neither was he dead.

He called on the general public to disregard the false news about his sickness and death as he is alive and well, thus it is unfortunate that many media houses did not sought clarification from his office but kept spreading the wrong information.

He therefore indicated that he was not surprised about the false news as Matthew 5:11 has it that “blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.”

He added by quoting from John 15:18 that “if the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first” to mean that the rumour spreading about him are those detractors who hate to see the progress of the church.

Though the Bishop admitted that human beings are bound to fall sick, he has been blessed with the gift of good health probably due to 3,000 to 6,000 people he attends to in ministrations.

“As human beings as we are, of course you are vulnerable to sickness and illness but I have been fortunate because for the past 2 years I have not been sick or visited the hospital for treatment; maybe God has blessed me with good health due to the work he has given me to deliver his people who are afflicted by the devil,” he stated.

Commenting on the effect of his supposed sickness and death on his church, Bishop Dr. Bonegas revealed there have been several public arguments over the false news which has resulted into serious fight between the church members and outsiders.

He again indicated that the false news has affected those who depend on the church for survival especially the orphanages and the school of the blind as they kept calling the church office for confirmation or denial of the news.

Bishop Dr. Bonegas apparently urged all the church members, the followers of the church program on Youtube and those who come for prayers to ignore the rumour of his sickness and death.
