Apam Water problem to be solved - DCE

The District Chief Executive for Gomoa West, Mr Theophilus Adu-Mensah, has said the Assembly was mobilising funds the laying of new pipelines to solve the perennial water problem in the town. Mr Adu-Mensah was addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of Apam as part of the celebration of this year�s Akwambo festival. The DCE said the Assembly had paid the fees of 51 students in the district as part of its efforts to help promote education, explaining that education was the key to development and urged the people to send their children to school. Mr Adu-Mensah said the Assembly was rehabilitating the Apam lorry station and providing toilet facilities at the Police station. The Queen mother of Apam, Nana Essel Botwe III, called on mothers to report irresponsible fathers to the law enforcement agencies for the requisite action to be taken against them. She appealed to mothers to reduce their expenditure on clothing and plan towards having the number of children their finances could support. The District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Samuel Latebu, appealed to Ghanaians not to mete out instant justice to suspects, but should hand them over to the police. ASP Latebu urged the people to cooperate with the police by giving them information about criminals to ensure effective prevention and solving of crime.
