Yussif Basigi's ladies have sealed a place in the finals of the 2016 African Women Championship after brushing aside the Carthage Eagles.

Ghana's Black Queens defeated their Tunisian counterpart 4-0 in the second leg of the African Women Championship final qualifying round at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.

The visitors came to the party on the background of two defeats, with Yussif Basigi’s maintaining the squad that recorded a 2-1 victory in the first leg.

Ghana’s first real chance fell to Samira Suleman in the 17th minute after a fine pass from Juliet Acheampong but the impressive Tunisia goalkeeper was at her best to prevent an early upset. Suleman then found the back of the net by the 27th minute after connecting Portia Boakye's pass.

Captain Mercy Myles missed a good opportunity to double Ghana's lead on the half-hour mark, heading wide from her teammate's cross before Portia Boakye made it 2-0 after 33 minutes.

The visitors made several attempts to fight back but failed to find a breach in Ghana's defence.

After the break, Ghana continued to impress but Tunisia put up a resilient performance in defence.

However, Priscilla Adobea outmuscled her marker to score her first on the day and Ghana's third by 75th minute before Suleman wrapped up the day with her brace on 83rd minute to seal their win at 4-0.

 
With this scoreline, Ghana have qualified 6-1 on aggregate and will join Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Equatorial Guinea for the tournament to be hosted by Cameroon.
