TB Joshua Engaged In 'Prophetic Scaremongering'... - Kweku Baako

Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, is of the opinion that the Founder and Leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua engaged in "prophetic scaremongering" and did not exercise discretion by openly prophesying of an impending terror attack on Ghana and Nigeria.

To him, the renowned prophet's action could likely destabilize the security of the country whiles the prophecy only sought to create fear and panic.

The seasoned journalist reasoned that the SCOAN leader should have used a more responsible way of making his prophetic pronouncement if indeed there is going to be an attack on the two West African nations.

All this is prophetic scaremongering. I think the prophecy is highly irresponsible. The way and manner in which this matter has been communicated is so irresponsible,” Kweku Baako said on Peace FM's Kokrokoo.

However acclaim he is, many have slammed the manner Prophet TB Joshua made his prophecy viral, with some also calling on Ghanaians not to disregard the prophecy.

Whiles the Christian Council of Ghana called on security agencies to ignore the prophecy and not run the country on “the back of prophecies,” the Ghana Police Service, in a statement Monday assured the public that a joint security force has put in place adequate measures to forestall any terrorist attacks.

Contributing to Wednesday's edition of the flagship programme, the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide said though they might have good intentions, the manner in which it is done raises concern.

He also expressed disgust over the behaviour of some spiritual leaders and alluded to the spiritual contest between Bishop Daniel Obinim and Okomfo Yaw Appiah which could not come off yesterday at the Jubilee field at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

To him, such Preachers need "spiritual healing" themselves.

There is a general terror alert out there and we are trying to deal with things based on intelligence gathering, then suddenly pastors are intruding with this wild cat prophecies of this nature. It destabilizes rather than build up security consciousness,” said Mr. Baako.
