RE: NPP To Drive Away Settlers From Ghana Advert

The attention of the New Patriotic Party has been drawn to an advert running on social media, which is being falsely and mischievously described by known NDC propagandist on Facebook as NPP campaign adverts.

Of particular interest is one advert which states that Nana Akufo-Addo, as President, will drive out settlers and non-Ghanaians should he be given the mandate by Ghanaians.

We wish to state, unequivocally, that no such advert has been commissioned by the 2016 campaign of the New Patriotic Party. Indeed, any official adverts for the party will also be sighted on the official pages of the campaign (www.nanaakufoaddo.org; newpatrioticparty.org; www.iamfornana.com; www.facebook.com/NAkufoAddo; www.twitter.com/NAkufoAddo; and www.youtube.com/NAkufoAddo).

On top of that, this fraudulent video uses the NPP's 2012 campaign signature, including slogan.

In this critical election year where desperation and dirty propaganda are the hallmarks of a ruling government, who for no solid economic record to fall back on are now resorting to evil and crude tactics to enable them hold on to power, this "cooked advert" comes us no surprise to us in the NPP.

Nana Akufo-Addo has stated his position clearly on the Fulani/cattle crisis. Whilst campaigning in Drobonso in the Sekyere Afram Plains constituency in the Ashanti Region on Saturday, March 26, 2016, he cited the example of Brazil that has a cattle population of about 213 million, but does not face the type of problems Ghanaians face. He stated that, as President, he would replicate the Brazil success story in Ghana.

“Brazil has put in place policies and measures to ensure that the animals are ranched and therefore do not ‘mingle’ with the human populace. These are the kinds of policies we will put in place if we win the election to ensure this situation is curbed, once and for all," Nana Akufo-Addo has said.

We urge all well-meaning Ghanaians to, once again, treat with the utmost contempt this vile propaganda from the stables of the ruling government.
