Upcoming Elections: Chief Charges Gomoa ResidentsAgainst Violence

Abusuapanin of Gomoa Fetteh in the Gomoa East district of the Central Region, Nana Ekow Abekah, has urged Ghanaians; especially the youth in the Fetteh community to stay away from fomenting trouble before, during and after the November 7th election.

He charged the youth to be bold and tell any politician who would come to them with the intent of using them to foment trouble, “tell those politicians to go and use his children for that dirty job.’

According to him, it behooves on all well-meaning Ghanaians to ensure that peace prevails after the election.

Nana Ekow Abekah gave this advice during the installation of Mr Charles Kwesi Graham popularly known as Akwesi Alhaji as the new Safohene of Gomoa fetteh under the stool name Nana Kwesi Alhaji Quansah.

He also appealed to the youth especially, not to allow themselves to be influence by self-seeking politicians to foment trouble in the December 7 General Election, saying that they have nothing to gain if they allow themselves to be use for counter-productive ventures instead of grooming themselves to be the future leaders of the country.

He said some of the brains behind violent upheavals in the country are well to do people who have their children studying abroad, and hence are not so much bothered about the implications of what would happen in Ghana.

“These politicians give you small amount of money, which cannot pay for your school fees, to cause violence against your own brothers and sisters. Violence can lead you into prison, whilst Ghana needs her sons and daughters to build the country.”

He said peaceful and stable elections would attract the confidence of investors to establish industries to give employment for the unemployed youth who travel to the cities seeking for non-existent jobs.

The new installed Safohene of Gomoa Fetteh  Kwesi Alhaji on his part thanked the elders of the area for the gesture and promised to solve and bring peace on all land litigations and other matters affecting the youth in the community.
