Acting Kwahumanhene Endorses Mahama's Second Term Bid

Acting Kwahumanhene, Nana Asiedu Agyemang III has declared his unflinching support for President John Mahama.

According to him, given the good works the President has done for the people of Kwahuman and the entire country, he deserves to be given another four year term.

It is our prayers that because of your love for the country and love for the people of Okwahuman you should get another four years, he said in Akan.

As part of his “Accounting to the People tour” in the Eastern region, President Mahama paid a courtesy call on the acting chief to interact with him.

The President also used the opportunity to commission the second campus of Eastern University in Donkorkrom as well as many of his government projects constructed in the region.

Speaking at a ceremony to welcome the President in Kwahu, the acting Kwahumanhene who is also the Adontenhene of the Kwahu traditional area praised President Mahama for his many development projects.

He thanked the President for commencing the construction of a second campus of the Eastern University located at Donkorkrom.

He also admonished other presidential aspirants to conduct peaceful campaigns ahead of the November 2016 polls, adding the aspirants must desist from “speaking ill about their opponents” in the course of their campaign.

“We want them to tell us what they can do and what they have done before”, he said.

Touching on the nomadic herdsmen issue in the region, Nana Agyemang III pleaded with the President to help them find a pasture land for the herdsmen so that the many farms of the people would be spared the destruction.

He, however, stressed they would love to co-exist with the nomadic herdsmen if their activities do not in any way hamper those of the residents.
