Acting Chief of Kwahu Traditional Council, Nana Asiedu Agyeman III has dismissed a release from some concerned youth in Kwahu in the Eastern Region that he has endorsed President John Mahama when he visited the projects he is doing in Kwahu.

According to the Abetifi Chief, he never endorsed and quoted a certain percentage of vote assurance for President John Dramani Mahama in Kwahu as the youth are putting it when the President recounted to the people the developmental projects he is doing, has done and about to complete in Kwahu.

Recounting exactly his comment when the President visited Kwahu, Nana Asiedu Agyeman III on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show told host, Kwame Nkrumah Tikese that it is his wish President Mahama continues his second term in order to finish all his projects since the next government will abandon projects of his predecessor to start his own.

“I have never endorsed and gave any percentage of vote assurance to President Mahama in Kwahu, and I have never also placed any curse on people in the area to vote in a certain direction to favor President Mahama,” he debunked.

He however stressed that “But with the vision of the President on education, health and road networks, the truth is that the President has not left Kwahu behind. So when he came to enumerate the things he is doing, and he has done and about to do for us, I said if it is my wish based on the things he is doing in Kwahu and what we know Ghana politics to be that the next successive governments abandon projects of his predecessors to start his own projects, the President should continue with his project till he finishes before he leaves power.”

He insisted that even though every chief looks forward to development in his community, he is not in any position to force his people to vote for President John Mahama as the people of Kwahu already vote for a particular political party.

He thus appreciated the fact that President Mahama is the only successive President who has built the first and the only District Hospital in Kwahu from the loan he took to build 6 District Hospitals in the country.

He again acknowledged the fact that for so many years it took President Mahama to help the people of Kwahu with water project from the Konongo, Kumawu and Kwahu water project as phase one of the project is completed and can treat water for use except the water distribution and replacing the damage pipes in order to supply water to all the township.

Nana Asiedu Agyeman therefore praised President Mahama for according the people of Kwahu with three of the Community Base School projects.
