Let's Work To Ensure Peace In Ghana - Pastor

Pastor Abankwa Amoakohene, the President of Mountain View Ghana Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, said it was the collective responsibility of Ghanaians to ensure peace in the country before, during and after this year's election.

He has, therefore, appealed to the citizenry, particularly the Christian community, to be extra careful in their utterances to avoid suspicion, misunderstanding and negative reactions.

Pastor Amoakohene was speaking at the 11th Biennial Singing Band Convention of the Mampong Zonal Adventist Singing Band Union at Beposo in the Sekyere Central District of the Ashanti Region on Saturday.

He said it was the social responsibility of all Ghanaians aged 18 years and above and of sound mind to exercise their voting rights.

Pastor Amoakohene cautioned people not to be corrupted, “so that we can elect a president and parliamentarians whose priority will be the country Ghana”.

Speaking on the theme for the six-day convention, "Reaching the World: The Role of the Adventist Singer,” Pastor Amoakohene advised the Union to let their songs and daily lives reflect the faith they professed.

The convention was attended by singing band unions from 10 districts, pastors and church members.
