Teachers Told To Show Strong Commitment To Duty

Teachers have been told to show strong commitment and passion for the job they are doing to improve students’ performance.

Mr. Joseph Kwabena Onyinah, former Ashanti Regional Education Director, said they should not allow anything to undermine effective use of the school contact hours.

He was speaking at a workshop organized for members of the Konongo-Mampong Diocesan Association of Catholic Teachers at Ahwiaa in the Kwabre East District.

It was meant to assist upgrade their professional competence to enhance the quality of teaching.

The workshop also provided the platform to discuss financial management of the schools and educational policies. 

Sixty-five (65) teachers selected from across the Diocese benefitted from the programme.

Mr. Onyinah spoke of the need for self-discipline and said they should make sure that they adopted good work ethics.

They should uphold integrity and hard work to become role models to the children they were teaching, he added.

Mr. Godfred Adu-Yeboah, Deputy Secretary of the Association, said the goal was to support efforts at promoting quality education.
