Times have been hard for the Member of Parliament for the Atebubu-Amantin Constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region, Sanja Nanja. Over the past few days, he has been targeted and warned not to engage in any social activity in Atebubu-Amantin for using offensive words on the Queen-mother of the area in a radio interview.
Despite rendering an apology to the traditional authorities, it has fallen on death ears and this has pushed Abdul Musa Rashid leader of Victory for Mahama 2016 and an activist of the National Democratic Congress to delve deeper and fish out the obstacles that are deliberately disturbing the peace in the area.
He identified New Patriotic Party elements as the brain behind the bad influence that is tearing the area apart.
In a statement copied to Peacefmonline.com, Abdul Musa Rashid stated that “the NPP in its quest to continually destabilize the Constituent to their advantage, have conspired with the Chiefs and Elders to continually reject all apologies rendered in by the Honorable Sanja Nanja to them”

NPP BEHIND THE BAN OF THE ATEBUBU-AMANTIN MP BY THE TRADITIONAL CHIEFS
Not long ago, the MP for Atebubu unfortunately rained insults on the Queen mother of the area: an issue he remorsefully apologized for. We as a group thought it would be appropriate for the Chiefs, Queen mother and Elders of Atebubu would forgive and forget any harm he caused them.
But, the Chiefs and Elders have not opened their arms to forgive the MP, Sanja Nanja, and we wonder why it has been so. Wondering about this we decided as a group to dig deeper into the reasons why the chiefs of the area have been so mean and very hard on our Honorable MP after he had countlessly apologized.
To our disbelief, we found out that the NPP in its quest to continually destabilize the peace in the area to their advantage, have conspired with some Chiefs and Elders and influenced them to continually reject all apologies rendered in by Hon. Sanja Nanja.
We are reliably informed that the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP held a private meeting with some Chiefs in the area to inform them about how his flagbearer wishes the issue is handled.
After the meeting, the chiefs were given huge sums of money by the NPP to execute this agenda against the NDC in the Atebubu Constituency.
We want the chiefs to know that, none of such unfortunate disruptions will change what we want to do for the people of Atebubu. The president is focused on delivering on his promises and nothing they do will change anything.
As we pray they have in change in minds, we further ask Sanja Nanja to be strong and go through this difficult times. We believe the people of the Atebubu constituency will not forget his good works.
We also, ask the NDC constituency leaders to be bold and preach the good works of President John Mahama.
