Queen mothers of Atebubu Traditional Council in the Brong Ahafo region want the Member of Parliament for Atebubu-Amantin Sanja Nanja banished from the town.
Their plea is in support of Nana Afua Donyina, who was allegedly subjected to vitriolic attack by the MP.
Sanja Nanja accused the queen mother of supporting the former District Chief Executive, Sampson Owusu Boateng and branded her a drunkard.
This angered the Atebubu-Amantin Traditional Council leading to his ban from all public functions in the town.
They also accused the MP of being in contempt after he disrespected the queenmother Nana Afia Donyina, calling her a drunkard after she accused him of being behind a recent disturbance in the area.
But the queen mothers unsatisfied with the punishment are proposing Sanja Nanja be banished to serve as a deterrent to others.
Queen mother of Akwamu, Nana Afua Owusuaa who spoke to Adom News said the conduct of Sanja Nanja is not only an insult to Nana Afua Donyina but also to God.
“Sanja Nanja even as a Konkomba person, we accepted you as one of us and now you want to pay us back this way? We feel insulted so he must be banished” she fumed.
The Akwamuhemaa expressed disappointment in the Brong Ahafo regional queen mothers whom according to her failed to defend their colleague when she was being humiliated by the MP.
Nana Afua Owusuaa said Sanja Nanja must count himself lucky since “his head would have been used for sacrifice to pacify the Atebubu queen mother if it were to be in the olden days”.
