Attivor's Saga: This Is The Mindset Of People In Gov't Today...! Kwamena Duncan

Former Transport minister Dzifa Attivor is reported to have told a group of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters that a New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in 2017 will arrest some of them just like in 2001, when the NPP assumed office.

Speaking at the launch of ‘Ketu South for Fiifi and Mahama’ at Wodoaba in the Ketu South Constituency, the former minister, who resigned her position as a result of the Metro Mass Transit bus rebranding saga, said the NPP will arrest Ewes like her and Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey – Member of Parliament for the Constituency – if the Volta Region does not vote to retain the NDC.

This comment has been strongly criticized and condemned by majority of Ghanaians.

Chairman of the National Peace Council (NPC) Reverend Professor Emmanuel Kwaku Asante has condemned the former Minister’s comments; while the NPP has asked her to apologise.

Speaking to the issue during Kokrokoo morning show, Kwamena Duncan said “this is the mindset of people in government today; that a vote for NDC is a protection for thieves. They are afraid of accountability. They cannot stand the force of the day. And they know that is exactly what will happen when a new government comes to power”
