Nana Addo Must Be Investigated Over Baah Acheamfour's Assault- Alhaji Dori

Some irate members of the NPP party were alleged to have stormed the Kumasi based Fox FM studios and beat up a vocal party critic, Baa Achamfuor and host of the program, Kwaku Kyeremanteng Nkansah(KK), during a live session.

The attack has been condemned by several politicians and Alhaji Ibrahim Dori believes the recent barbaric act meted on Baah Acheamfour is a wakeup call on the security  of political parties communicators before, during and after the 7th November polls.

The silence of the NPP’s flagbearer is gradually becoming deafening and Alhaji Ibrahim Dori insists it raises several questions.

“The continuous silence of the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo raises a lot of questions that need to be answered.”

Baah Acheamfour, one of the fiercest critics of the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo on Monday afternoon had the shock of his life when he was physically assaulted by some macho men in Kumasi.

The incident happened in the studios of Fox FM where the victim had been invited as a panelist on the station’s afternoon political show.

Narrating the incident on PEACE FM 6pm News bulletin from Kumasi, Hello FM reporter Isaac Owusu said the Macho men alleged to be members of the NPP directly walked into the studio’s of FOX FM pushing away security personnel along the way with the aim of teaching Baah Acheamfour a lesson for allegedly condemning the recent fund raising campaign (Yi Bi Ma) launched by the NPP.

The well-built men attacked Baah Acheamfour, who is also the Communications Director of the group 'Save NPP Now', an appendage of the opposition party after he reportedly lambasted Nana Akufo-Addo for being behind the division in the NPP.

But in an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Alhaji Dori wondered “if he (Nana Addo) is endorsing lawlessness in a democratic state like Ghana or is the NPP above the laws of Ghana”.

“He as a leader must show good leadership first by condemning the act and to further appeal for peaceful coexistence regardless of dissenting voices within the party”, he said.

Alhaji Dori explained that the fundamental human rights of individuals especially the freedom of speech and association must be respected as a hallmark of democracy and that must be encouraged by our leaders including Nana Addo.

“The NPPs' flagbearer Nana Addo continous silence over this unconstitutional act reinforces his support for such acts and on this note I'm calling for his investigation”, he added.
