Minister for Youth and Sports,Edwin  Nii  Lantey Vanderpuye, has advice fans who will be trumping to the  Accra Sports  Stadium on Monday to watch the’ super 2’ clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko in the match-day-10 fixture to comport  themselves and accept the outcome of the match in good faith.

The Minister was expressing his disappointment in irate Hearts of Oak supporters who threw missiles (bottles and sachets of water) after losing 3-1 to Wa All Stars in their own backyard weeks ago.

In a conversation with Kumasi based radio station Nhyira Fm Nii Lantey condemns the act and he is expecting the fans of both sides to comport themselves in weekends top-liner.

’’I went to Accra sports stadium to watch Hearts and Wa All Stars and I was very disappointed in the Hearts fans throwing missiles onto the field.

“It took the intervention of the Police to control the situation. After the game I talked extensively to the National Sports Authority about the situation, let’s remember what happened on May 9, 2001 I want to take this opportunity to pledge with fans of Hearts and Kotoko to be calm and accept the outcome of the game in good faith.

“After football games players exchange pleasantries and jerseys so as a fan why must you fight each other after a football game”, he added

Hearts will face Asante Kotoko in Ghana’s version of the ‘super 2’ in the match-day-9 fixture of the Ghana Premier League over the weekend.
