Collins Dauda Accused Of Invading Registration Centres With Macho Men In Asutifi South

The member of Parliament for Asutifi South constituency, Alhaji Collins Dauda, has been fingered by the New Patriotic Party's  Parliamentary candidate for the area for brewing chaos in the ongoing Biometric Voter registration exercise.

Madam Cecilia Gyan Amoah alleged that a heavily built men sighted in a Nissan Pick Up truck belonging to Alhaji Dauda's brother, Naaba Abdullai, on Thursday beat up  one of the NPP's polling agent  who had challenged  a young man who had failed  to provide an accurate information of his residence.

The residential address the boy gave was said to have been different from where he claimed he lived thereby raising eyebrows over the authenticity of the information he gave the Electoral commission's officials, said an eyewitness.

Amakye who represented the NPP at the Presbyterian School at Nkaseim, accordingly suggested the boy be challenged.

In the process of challenging him, two Pick up trucks arrived with about seven Macho men led by Alhaji Collins Dauda's brother who pounced on Amakye and gave him severe beatings at the sight of EC's officials and onlookers, causing chaos at the registration centre.

Naaba claimed the NPP's polling  agent had wanted to prevent their party member from registering hence the beating.

Naaba is reported to have said nobody in the region could arrest him for that scuffle.

Amakye was given police medical forms for treatment in a hospital.

But the one time member of Parliament and parliamentary candidate for the area, Cecilia Amoah believes the police cannot make any arrest for fear of being transferred to remote areas.

"The police have not arrested anybody as at now,and Naaba is still driving the macho men around, intimidating our party members in the constituency".

" Collins (Dauda) is behind all these chaos. Naaba is doing this for Collins. Naaba is not a parliamentary candidate so if he does this you should know his brother is behind this...he did this to our party executives in 2012 and threatened to kill us", she revealed.
