Photos: Togolese, Three Others Busted For SIM Box Fraud

A joint operation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service and Subah Info Solutions Ghana Limited, has led to the arrest of four men who are alleged to have defraud the state through SIM box operation.

The police indentiied the suspects as Basha Asward Ibrahim, James Okai , Benjamin Komlan Agbo, believed to be a Togolese, and one other person, whose name was not mentioned.

Subah Infosolutions Ghana Limited in 2010 was contracted by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to provide telecom traffic monitoring services for revenue verification, specifically to collect “Talk Tax” pursuant to the Electronic and Communication Act.

Basha Asward Ibrahim and James Okai, according to the police, were arrested on April 28, 2016 at their hideout at Tubah near Kasoa, in the Central Region.

Bemjamin Komlan Agbo was arrested on April 29th, 2016 at Adjiringano, Accra.

The suspects were apprehended at the time they were busily scratching top up cards and loading them onto SIM card boxes.

They are currently in police custody assisting them with their investigations.
