Ghanaian Actress Splashes Over GH3000 On Orphans

Budding Ghanaian actress Ingrid Alabi on Sunday afternoon threw a hefty party for orphans and needy children at the Osu Childrens Home in Accra. The event, which was part of the actress birthday celebration, was her way of giving back and helping the needy in society. Though she could have partied at home with her numerous celebrity friends, Ingrid decided to spend the day with the orphans. She provided the children with fried rice and big portions of chicken, soft drinks and other savories. In addition, she donated items including a sack of rice, Lactogen, Celerac, biscuits, and Pampers; all worth over GH2000, from her own coffers. With Ingrid at the orphanage were fellow actor Roger Quartey and director Frank Raja, along with other friends. The first runner-up of 2004 edition of the prestigious Miss Ghana pageant also graced the event with her presence. In an interview with BEATWAVES, the Tears of Womanhood actress said the fte was not her first one. I have a lot of reasons for coming to the orphanage. But my main reason for doing this is that I enjoy doing this; it gives me a lot of happiness. I have been doing it for the past four years. Every birthday of mine, I go to these needy children to celebrate with them. I have done it with the Teshie Nungua Orphanage before, and this year I decided to do it with Osu Childrens Home, she disclosed.
