Armed Robbers Attack Dan Botwe And Family At Gunpoint

The Member of Parliament for Okere in the Eastern region who doubles as the Minority Chief Whip, Dan Kwaku Botwe has been robbed at gunpoint by suspected armed robbers at his Tema residence Thursday night.

Former youth organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Attafuah Danso who revealed this in an interview said the robbery, lasted for about 45 minutes.

According to him, Dan Botwe and members of his family were asleep when the robbers numbering about three broke his door and entered the room.

The robbers he said were led by the security man in the house and one other security man at the opposite house of the MP.

“The robbers were three and when they broke and entered the room, one pointed a gun at him for 45 minutes while the others were busily looting everything in the room” he said.

He said the robbers took away undisclosed amount of money and his laptop, mobiles phones and that of his children’s laptop and mobile phones and some important documents.

According to him, the eldest son of the MP who was locked in their room was quick to call the police following which a police patrol team was dispatched to the area. 

Attafuah said when the patrol team reached the scene, the suspected robbers had fled.

The two security men who were reported to have led the robbers to the MPs home have been arrested and helping with investigations.
