Minority Leader Condemns Kennedy Agyapong...

The Minority leader in Parliament Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has described as unfortunate endorsement of assault on a parliamentarian by Member of Parliament for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong.

According to him, regardless of the provocation, members should seek the protection and security of colleague members.

“If indeed a colleague member has been assaulted and another member is endorsing it, I think it will be unfortunate. Regardless of the provocation, members should be seeking the protection and security of colleague members," he stated.

The outspoken MP justified the alleged assault on Manhyia North MP, Collins Owusu Amankwah by the party’s Ashanti regional chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as 'Chairman Wontumi'.

In his view, Ken Agyapong said, his colleague is part of the moles in the NPP ‘flirting’ with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Ken Agyapong opined that, the incident would serve as precedence for other MPs who work against the chances of the party’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.

But the Minority leader in an interview on Adom News condemned his [Ken] action in no uncertain terms.

He stated emphatically, even if the allegation being leveled against the Manhyia North MP, chairman Wontumi had no right to slap him.

“I am not aware that the said member is working against the interest of the presidential candidate to warrant that incident".

Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu called on his party to be each other’s keeper irrespective of the difference they might have.
