Schlupp wins Leicester Citys young player of the year award

Ghanaian international Jeffery Schlupp has been voted the Leicester City young player of the year for the second time running.

Schlupp was rewarded for his impressive performance for the foxes during the Leicester City awards night on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old scooped the accolade beating Demarai Gray and Ben Chilwell to win it for the second time in a row.

The player began the season at left back before progressing into a midfield role later in the campaign – having a strong impact on Leicester’s season despite a three-month injury absence.

Schlupp is one of the few players who made it through the youth ranks at the English Champions helping them to earn promotion into the Premiership two seasons ago.

Other awards saw Algerian international Riyad Mahrez being named as the player of the year at the Club.

Jamie Vardy’s excellent volley against Liverpool was also voted the goal of the year while impressive French midfielder N'Golo Kante was adjudged the Players' player of the season.

Young defender Ben Chilwell who missed out on the young player award also won the U21 player of the year with Admiral Muskwe scooping home the Academy player of the year.
