Goons Beat Up Policeman Mercilessly

Drama unfolded at the traffic light at the Mallam Junction at the weekend when a policeman on duty at the Junction was mercilessly beaten up by two enraged civilians. No one could believe the mayhem being wreck on the young looking policeman, who was just doing his duties at the traffic light on that unfortunate day. The incident happened when the policeman stopped the vehicular movement of vehicles to Mallam or other destinations along the main Mallam Junction/Weija/Kasoa road. Not pleased of being stopped, a thick heftyman in a white T-Shirt, alighted from his vehicle in which they were about four occupants, to confront the young police officer and even before the policeman could reply, this sadistic person became an Azumah Nelson, landing hefty blows on the face and body of the hapless policeman. Luckily, a Police Inspector, driving towards Odorkor, stopped his car to rescue his fellow police officer. Another policeman, on the other side of the defected traffic light Junction, also rushed in to help his colleague. This never went down well with another person in the car with dread-locks, who came out to charge on the policemen, involving himself in the fray. But civilians around, not in support of the drug-addict looking men who were pummeling the policemen, joined the skirmishes to assist the police to arrest the two goons. The Inspector and the other policeman, with the help of the civilians, dragged the two into the Inspectors vehicle to a nearby police station while the young policeman, who faced the blunt of the goons, continued his lawful traffic duties to the admiration of all those around.
