Police Transfer: COP Dampare Opens Up

The newly appointed Commandant of the Ghana Police Command and Staff College (GPCSC) at Winneba, Commissioner of Police Dr George Akuffo Dampare has asked the public not to read meaning into his transfer.

In a statement, he said the transfer is a 'routine management practice' which is done all the time.

COP Dampare was transferred from Accra to Winneba in a latest police reshuffle. Sixteen other police chiefs were transferred with immediate effect. However, these changes have not been welcomed well as a section of the public suspects a political move.

However COP Dampare says: “The new appointment which took immediate effect is a routine management practice and I have accordingly handed over the management of the region to my successor, ACP/Mr. Timothy Yoosa Bonga on 16th May, 2016”
