The health condition of the people of Sovie Konda in the Kpando Municipality of the Volta region is under serious threat.

The people do not have good drinking water for use.

The town folks especially women and children  for many years have to walk more than half a mile in order to access water from dirty and stagnated sources in small holes.

The residents fear their only source of water may dry up soon due to climatic conditions.

“We are also part of Ghana and therefore need the basic needs of life, government should do something for us here in Konda fast or else we will not vote” a lady poured out her frustration.

According to the queenmother of Konda, Mama Dadzawa V, the situation is bad to the extent that it has started affecting academic activities of pupils in the area, who have to walk long distances in search of water for use.

“We have been suffering for too long and we need government to do something about our situation as soon as possible”  the queenmother lamented.
