NPP Does Not Seem To Have A Well-Thought Out Campaign Message - Ampong

A former Greater Accra Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Micheal Ampong, has urged his party executives to come out with a ‘scientific-based campaign message’ which will help them win the upcoming elections in November.

According to him, the kind of messages being used by the party is based on ‘happenings’ and not on concrete issues that will convince Ghanaians to vote for the NPP.

“I have always had a problem with the type of messages my party is taking to the Ghanaian populace. We don’t seem to have a well thought out campaign messages. We dwell on happenings…few months ago, it was the Suhum-Nsawam road, then it became the Adomi bridge which was being rehabilitated….now the bridge is fixed what are you going to tell them again. The last time, it was dumsor; now it is high billing system…so if the billing system is solved then you move to what? So we have a problem” he said during a panel discussion on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji, Saturday.

Mr Ampong added that “there is the need for the party to sit down….we must have a scientific-based campaign…we must find the missing links; otherwise our campaign messages will keep on changing”
