The Bishop of Titus Episcopal Bishops College, Bossoh Bless Nelson, has cautioned preachers of the gospel against immoral acts.

He advised pastors to avoid fraud, stealing, extortion and having affairs with the church members before praying for and healing them. According to him, such acts have the tendency to bring the work of God into disrepute.

He said this during the installation and ordination of bishops and pastors including Apostle Emmanuel Boa-Mensah, Reverend Andy Agyekum, Bishop Abraham Teye and Rev. Andy J.A. Ntiamoah.

Delivering the sermon, Bishop Nelson called for unity among Christians. He underscored the need for Christians all over the world to commit themselves to biblical values to help correct the many wrongs in the church.

He also said the installation and ordination of bishops should serve as an opportunity for the people in the region to rededicate themselves to God and eschew rancour and division.

Advice to Christians

Bishop Nelson admonished Christians who depended on other churches for solutions to their problems to rather constantly engage with God and share their problems with Him instead of depending on “so-called powerful men of God”.

He also advised Christians to let love be the motivation for anything they did; maintain the unity in the Church, refrain from selling anointing oil and shun negative movements and societies.

The Bishop asked Christians to allow the Bible to guide them in everything they did and be obedient to Christ.

Bishop Nelson also urged the leadership of churches to have pity on their members, avoid extorting money from them and cursing them; instead, they should educate their congregants on corruption so that the church would grow. He assured the bishops that he would collaborate with them and members of various church societies to ensure the effective running of the church.
