Duncan Insists, He Is Only On Break At Kotoko

Asante Kotoko former head coach David Duncan insist he is only on “break” from his duties at the Kumasi-based club.

Duncan was asked to “step aside until further notice” by Kotoko management in April after the team had suffered a poor start to their 2015/16 campaign season.

This Duncan only sees as a temporal break.

“Everybody goes on break. So am on break. That is what it is. I am on break!” Duncan emphasized.

Duncan, left the Porcupine Warriors rocking bottom of the league log with five points out of six games and had only won one, and drawn two whiles losing the rest.

Duncan’s role at Kotoko was taken over by his deputy Michael Osei in the interim. With the improve results that Osei is churning out speculations are rife that Duncan might not return to the club as head coach.

But Duncan is confident that he still remains at post.

“I am not unattached. I have a contract with Asante Kotoko and it hasn’t been terminated,” Duncan said.

Kotoko are currently lying third on the league table with 26 points – two points adrift the leaders Wa All Stars. Duncan replaced Mas-Ud Didi Dramani mid-way through the 2014/15 season where he guided the team to a third place finish.

Duncan’s records at Kotoko

• Games played = 26

• Wins = 12

• Draws = 6

• Losses = 8

• Goals scored = 36
