Kwadwo Asamoah ready for Black Stars return

Ghanaian international Kwadwo Asamoah has expressed his readiness to return to the Black Stars after a long absence from the team.

The Juventus midfielder has been out of the national team for close to two years now due to his problematic knee injuries.

Asamoah who last featured for Ghana at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil has battled injuries in the last 18 months.

The 27-year-old played a cameo role for Juventus last season having spent most of his time on the sideline.

The former Udinese star says he is ready to join his colleagues in the National team.

“For the Black Stars, I am ready to come back. I have spoken with the coach, the President and most of the people at the Ghana Football Association,” he told Joy Sports.

“I am hoping to come back strongly and join the team. Just that for the past one year, I have not been playing consistently so I will be very happy to join the team as soon as possible.”

“If everything is good, if there is no injury, I will be happy to join the team.”

He will be available when Ghana takes on Rwanda in the final qualifier for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
