Who Funded Joy FM's Manasseh?

While many Ghanaians including Editor-in-Chief of the weekend Crusading Guide are applauding Joy FM'S ace investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni’s exploit in unraveling a supposed bribery scandal involving President John Mahama, the question many are not averting their minds to is the source of funding for the supposed undercover operation.

Despite having won awards including the prestigious journalist of the year award, Mr. Azure Awuni, like all journalists working in the private media, is not known to be so endowed, at least financially, to be able to undertake such valuable but, expensive enterprise. So, the question of funding in order to evaluate the integrity of the journalist cannot be overlooked.

Following the revelation which has generated so much debate in the country with some calling for the resignation or impeachment of President Mahama, other well-meaning Ghanaians have also started raising concerns about the motive and source of funding for the Machiavellian investigative work.

While some have argued that the source of funding for the investigation is immaterial, others also believe that, it is for the journalist’s own integrity since there are suggestions of political opportunist hiding behind the investigations to embarrass the president in order to enhance their political fortunes, that the source of funding must be disclosed.

The aL-hAJJ will in the coming days reveal how, when and where the whole evil agenda to taint the image of President Mahama ahead of the crucial November polls was planned. We shall also reveal identity of the conspirators who hatched the idea to engage Joy FM’s Manasseh to execute the devious plot.

This paper will also walk readers through chronology of events detailing how the letter from officials of Ghana’s mission in Burkina Faso acknowledging the gift to the president was leaked to those who ‘hired’ the supposed independent investigative journalist to go for the kill.

Intriguing as this may sound; the issue of compensation for carrying out the “dirty job” would shock readers. Even though this has not come to the fore, it would interest readers to know exactly what transpired during the series of meetings leading to the compilation of the report at the studios of Joy FM.

Ironically, some persons have argued that Manasseh and Joy FM have over the years carried out breathtaking investigations; most of which led to revelations of massive corruption in some public institutions; therefore he could not have been hired by political adversaries of the President to stain him.

Those who share this view have opined that Multimedia Group at its present stage has the capacity to fund any investigation such as the one conducted by its investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni.

What proponents of this position may have ignored is that, all the commentaries on the investigative report so far have been attributed to the ingenuity of Manasseh and not Multimedia Group or Joy Fm.

These concerns are being raised because similar investigations by Manasseh in the past were attributed to Joy Fm and not the one-time journalist of the year.

It appears that in this particular report, Joy Fm and by extension Multimedia Group was only used as medium to promote the diabolic agenda and not the initiator of the investigation.

More so, the callous and Machiavellian method adopted in this particular investigation and, how it was aired; at a time the President was mourning his late mother, has given rise to speculations that the president’s opponents are indeed, desperately hiding behind the supposed independent investigative journalist to go after him.

This paper will be sharing with its readers in the coming days other interesting backstage dealings revealing the real intension behind the so-called first-rated investigations.

What is not in contention, The aL-hAJJ’s inquiries have so far revealed is that, the plot to smear the President is in furtherance of a regime change agenda which has long been on the radar of Multimedia Group, particularly Joy Fm, and sections of the media. Stay tuned
