Tension At Chieftaincy Ministry Staff Want Crime Suspect Director Out

Some staff of both the Information Services Department (ISD) and the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture are clamoring for the termination of the appointment of Constant Gladzah, Acting Chief Director of the latter for the role he played in the missing of some government vehicle tires at the ISD some years ago.

According to them, Mr. Gladzah still had a criminal charge hanging around his neck which could be revived anytime and so was not fit to occupy the office of a Chief Director of the Chieftaincy Ministry.

“Mr. Gladzah was on trial on suspicion of stealing and selling vehicle tires meant for ISD vans and was only discharged in 2014. He was not acquitted which means the charge is still valid so we believe he must vacate his post in order to bring honor to that position”, some of the staff told The New Crusading GUIDE on condition of anonymity.

When asked why they would not wait for the Court to decide on the fate of Mr.Gladzah before they call for his head, they said it was a normal practice that a Public Officer with such a charge hanging around his or her neck is made to step aside for investigations to conclude.

One of them further alleged that he knew Mr. Gladzah one time Acting Chief Director of the ISD negotiated to pay over GH 15.000.00 a cost of the missing vehicle tires.

Unfortunately, the accused Mr. Gladzah could give his side of the story when this paper contacted him. A scheduled meeting could not come off and a text message to him detailing the accusation was not responded to. In a similar fashion, the Chieftaincy and Culture Minister was also not available for comment and also did not revert after a similar text message was sent to him.

The Staff have threatened to file an official petition to the Head of Civil Service as well as the Presidency to dispense justice to uphold the integrity of the Service.

Please stay tuned.
