Stop Intimidating EC - Gabby Assuming Tells NPP

A Communications Team Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken a swipe at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he describes as creating disaffection for the Electoral Commission (EC).

In the view of Gabby Assuming, the NPP is the unseen hand behind the many lawsuits against the EC but vowed they will fail.

"...and it is a calculated attempt discredit and also intimidate the EC but they will fail. The NPP knows they will fail at winning the upcoming general elections and have resorted to mudslinging the EC and its chairperson".

"No one can convince me that the NPP is not behind this action since Abu Ramadam is the brother-in-law of the running mate of the NPP and also has Nana Addo's cousin, Nana Asante Badiatuo, as a lawyer. So it is clear that the NPP led by Nana Addo is the force behind the intimidation being suffered by the EC" he told Peacefmonline.com .

This assertion comes in the wake of a Supreme Court case filed by Abu Ramadam, the former Youth Organizer of the People's National Convention (PNC), in which the Electoral Commission was directed to delete names of National Health Insurance card registrants on the electoral roll.

It was followed by a clarification by the Apex Court on its ruling on the matter but Gabby Assuming, who doubles as the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency Secretary of the ruling NDC is of the view that these are tactics being deployed by the NPP to intimidate the EC.
