ECG Cuts Power Supply To Ayensu Starch Factory

Power supply to the Ayensu Starch Factory in the Central Region has been cut by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) over debts owed the state power distributor.

The power cut is part of ECG’s efforts to get companies indebted to it, to pay all their debts. Already power supply to the Cape Coast Polytechnic and the Cape Coast sports stadium have also been cut by the ECG.

The polytechnic owes ECG about GHC1.1 million. The ministries building, which houses several state agencies in Cape Coast, was also disconnected. The agencies operating in the building include the Ghana Education Service (GES), Immigration Service, Controller and Account General’s Department, Registrar General’s Department, Information Service Department, Daily Graphic, Ghanaian Times and the Ghana News Agency.
