RICS Consult To Organize Workshop On Black Stars And World Cup

RICS Consult Limited, an Accra-based Sports Marketing, Public Relations and Sports Events Management Consultancy Firm will on Thursday, October 29, organize a workshop devoted to the Black Stars qualification for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The one-day workshop under the theme �Leveraging Black Stars� appearance at the 2010 World Cup for new business opportunities and enhancing brand Ghana� is being organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and will take place at the National Hockey Stadium. Magnus Rex Danquah, Executive Chairman of RICS Consult told GNA Sports that the rationale behind the workshop is to explore to the maximum numerous opportunities for business that could be promoted courtesy their association with the Black Stars� appearance at next year�s FIFA World Cup slated for South Africa. He explained that it also forms part of the overall Ghana�s Brand Project, Tourism, Sports Tourism, Trade and Investment Promotion Strategy for 2010. Rex Danquah noted that the event to be opened by Vice President, John Dramani Mahama will see the presentation of Papers by dignitaries including Ghana�s High Commissioner to South Africa, South African High Commissioner to Ghana and Chief Executive Officer of Brand Ghana Secretariat of the Office of the President. Institutions and organizations invited to take part includes the Ministry of Trade and Industries, Ministry of Tourism, Ghana Export Promotion Council (GEPC), Ghana Investments Promotion Centre (GIPC), Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ghana Tourists Board, Ghana Football Association (GFA), National Sports Council (NSC) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Others are the South Africa High Commission, Ghana High Commission to South Africa, The Office of the President, Brand-GHANA Office, Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Traditional Caterers Association, Ghana Travel & Tours Association and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIMG). The rest are Institute of Public Relations, Ghana (IPR), Advertisers Association of Ghana (AAG), Sportswriters Association of Ghana, (SWAG), Parliamentary Select Committees for Sports, Trade and Tourism; Supporters Union and Local Representatives of FIFA World Cup Sponsors (Coca Cola, Hyundai, MTN and Emirates). Each institution is expected to send two representatives each for the workshop and must confirm their participation before Tuesday, October 13, 2009.
