There have been Eight substantive Sports Ministers under the regime of the NDC since 2009 and two of those ministers who have received a lot of public bashing were interestingly chosen by Ibrahim Sannie Daara.

 

“We have worked with a lot of ministers since I became the Communications Director but I will want to laud two ministers (Hon. Mahama Ayariga and Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah) for the great job they did for sports and the way they took sports and not only football to heart”, he told host Adam Adjei on Dwidwa’m on Wednesday.

 

He further explained why he mentioned Mahama Ayariga for commendation even after it was clear beyond reasonable doubt that public opinion was against him.

 

Mahama Ayariga left a legacy for the Sports Ministry, he left a major means of generating revenue for the Sports Ministry that is the NLA Soccer Cash and it was also during his tenure that we reached another final at the AFCON.
