Atiwa Chief Pledges Support For Akufo-Addo

Osabarima Adugyei Gyamfi II, Chief of the Akyem Akrofufu Traditional Area, has pledged his and the unflinching support of the people of Atiwa for the 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in this year’s elections.

“We pledge to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that, just as we have always done, whether in rain or in sunshine, day or night, we, the Chiefs and people of Atiwa, back and support him fully in this year’s elections,” Osabarima Adugyei Gyamfi II said.

The Akyem Akrofufu Chief made this known on Sunday, July 3, 2016, on the last day of the NPP flagbearer’s tour of the Eastern Region, when Nana Akufo-Addo paid a courtesy call on him at the Kwabeng Palace.

Urging the Chiefs and people of Kwamang not to “destroy your vote” in this year’s elections, Osabarima Adugyei Gyamfi II urged them to be mindful of the proverb, which says, “It is only the wise who is sent with a message, and not one with long legs”.

He therefore advised the electorate to “advise your brother or sister to take a critical look at their conditions of living before voting.”

Osabarima Adugyei Gyamfi II further urged the people of Atiwa to firm up their support for Nana Akufo-Addo by voting for the NPP’s parliamentary candidate, Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Atta, explaining that it is only when this is done that Atiwa can prosper.

“We all know that when Nana succeeds, and his parliamentary candidates don’t make it, it will not be a good spectacle. Hon. Amoako-Atta is one of us, he is my brother. If you revere me, then vote for Amoako-Atta, so one day we all reap the benefits,” he said.

The Akyem Akrofufu Chief concluded by reiterating his pledge of support the NPP flagbearer, admonishing residents of Atiwa to be mindful of proverb, “it is only the wise who is sent with a message, and not one with long legs.”
