BNI Detains Montie FM Panelists Who Threatened Judges

Peacefmonline.com can confirm that two men who made various threats on Supreme Court and High Court judges on Montie FM, an Accra-based radio station, have been picked up by the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI).

Reliable sources hinted that Godwin Ako Gunn and Alistair Nelson, said to be a member of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) were picked up by the BNI, Sunday.

Their arrest comes on the heels of a call by the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to as a matter of urgency, arrest the two radio panelists who threatened the lives of judges in the country.

Alistair, though, has rendered an apology to the Ghana Bar Association GBA and management of Montie FM for the unfortunate development.

Meanwhile, the PPP is said to have disowned Alistair Nelson who reportedly threatened the lives of judges in the country.

According to Divine Nkrumah, who is the PPP's National Youth Organizer, the parety's attention has been drawn to reports on social media - linking one Alistair Nelson (who is alleged to have threatened the lives of Supreme Court judges) as a member of the PPP, but that is absolutely false because, Alistair Nelson left a year ago.

“The man in question used to be a member of PPP and a year back, he said he’s no longer with the party. So why do you even affiliate him to the party when there are troubles? We don’t know him, and you can ask him if he’s a PPP member. If he says yes, then we can speak from there” Mr. Nkrumah reacted.
