The Rt. Rev. Dr. Daniel Yinka Sarfo, Anglican Bishop of Kumasi, has urged Christians to do more to ensure the growth of the Church through evangelism and charity.
Evangelism should go hand in-hand with an inclination to show kindness and that it behoved Christians not only to preach the word of God but to also support the needy and the deprived.
The Rt. Rev. Dr. Sarfo was preaching at the 25th Anniversary Thanksgiving service of the Saint Anne�s Men�s Fellowship in Kumasi.
�The Anglican Man in the 21st Century� was the theme.
The occasion was also used to raise funds in support of the Isaac Kodua-Kumi Foundation instituted by the Fellowship to assist the poor and socially disadvantaged.
The late Mr Kodua-Kumi was the founder the Fellowship who dedicated his entire life, working for charity and the Foundation is an honour to his memory.
The Rt. Rev Dr Sarfo reminded Christians that they would be judged by the way "we treat our neighbours and the needy in society� and urged the congregation to always make provision for the welfare of the poor, widows and orphans.
He said it was his prayer that the members would be inspired by the good works of the late Kodua-Kumi.
Mr. Francis Kwaw Atobra, Chairman of the Fellowship, commended all those who had in diverse ways contributed to its progress.
He re-affirmed the association�s commitment towards the development of the Church through the deployment of material, intellectual and spiritual resources for a more formidable Anglican Communion.
An appeal for funds yielded GH�10,400.00.
