NPP Poised To Restore Confidence In Public School System

The NPP’s Parliamentary candidate for Tema West, Mr. Carlos Kingsley Ahenkora says the low level of confidence in public schools at the basic level as a result of the fallen standards would be restored when the NPP is given the mandate to steer the affairs of the country on November 7.

He said that public schools in the metropolis donot perform beyond 50% at the basic level. This he attributed to factors such as lack of motivation, poor facilities, and poor concentration of teachers among others. He observed ‘’Schools such as Oninku used to perform well but now they are all not doing well as expected. I have identified that for us to improve on the standards of our public schools, some of these challenges would have to be tackled.
Educational standards in the public schools have seriously gone down.

Mr. AhenKorah who is the Managing Director of Carloking Freight Services in Tema said this when he interacted with some newsmen at his campaign office at Sakumono on Friday.

He said the issue of job creation continues to be a major focus of the NPP adding that he would unearth the potential of the youth to be able to find jobs in all the sectors of the economy.” It is not just the white man’s job that can keep one going but if a lot of potentials are harnessed well it would help. People would have work o do and also contribute to the development of their communities and the nation at large.”he noted.

He mentioned that to be able to prevent people from moving from the rural area to the urban centres the nation need to consider providing adequate infrastructure and job opportunities for the rural dwellers stressing that provision of one factory in each district by the NPP which has received some backlash in sections of the country is feasible. ‘One factory per district by Nana Addo is coming to the fore. Some of the district don’t even need factories at all for instance in Tema, but we need it outside the capital. If the NPP wins most people would not move to the urban centers because a lot of infrastructure is going to be provided in the rural areas which will prevent them from coming to the city to look for non existing jobs.’’ He emphasised.

On the issue of women empowerment, the parliamentary candidate said, he would empower women to be self sufficient in order to help address some challenges they are confronted with.” For instance in the situation of a divorce and the woman is working, the household is safe. No matter the least amount of money a woman has she will be able to take care of the household.’’ he noted.

He underscored the need for the country to formulate policies that would address the need of every body noting that the lack of qualified persons in positions to influence policies has contributed to the low level of development in the country.’’Some professionals come with guidelines which they do not understand but with such an understanding, I will help drive policies that would help shape the development of the country.’’ He added.

Mr. Ahenkorah advised the youth to make choices that has the tendency to affect them positivelybecause in his view ‘anything the youth will do will have repercussions in their life. They have chances and so should make very good choices in life.’

Mr. Ahenkorah pledged his unflinching support for Nana Addo tofulfill his manifesto promises.
