The Progressive People’s Party’s (PPP) parliamentary hopeful for Obuasi East constituency, Mr Frank Aboagye Danyansah has urged the youth, to lead campaigns devoid of acrimony and divisive tendencies towards peaceful polls on November 7.

He advised them to resist any temptation of material or financial inducements largely used by leading political parties as conduit to stir confusion and mar peaceable elections.

Addressing large numbers of Wangara Youth Association of Obuasi at Ashanti Town, Mr Danyansah said to the teeming young men and women “steer clear of politics of dishonesty and intimidation to pave way for peaceful conduct of presidential and parliamentary polls”.

“The message is clear, let us have peaceful elections, no youth should be used as an agent of violence, you hold the future of Obuasi, you’re the face of our country, you should rather be seen as agents of positive change in Ghana’s economic growth and prosperity agenda.

“What you should rather be demanding from political aspirants are the policies or programmes they have to change your present economic situations, the hardships you’re enduring with pain and anguish, so that your lives can be better off tomorrow,” he said.

Mr Danyansah asked the youth to dismiss “politics of deceit and propaganda” perpetuated by the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party over the last two decades.

He noted that these two political parties, have virtually descended into a “ditch that now see political officer holders glorifying corruption coated with exchanges of who looted the biggest”.

He told the youth to embrace PPP’s elaborate policy on job creation and massive investments drive in health and education transformation to reposition Ghana into a better human development pedestal for rapid economic take-off.

Mr Danyansah offered five employment opportunities for the Wangara Youth Association members to be engaged by his company – Dannywise Estate and Construction - headquartered in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

He requested the Association’s leadership to submit names of two computer technicians, one plumber and two electricians for immediate processing into the company’s payroll.

The declaration comes barely a week after the parliamentary aspirant indicated plans to put widows aged 60 years and above on the company’s payroll in a move aimed to end widespread discrimination and injustices against elderly women.

The Company also launched a scholarship scheme as part of its corporate social responsibility, to sponsor education of deprived children including children of widows through basic education to senior high school levels.
